There’s something satisfying about a freshly cleaned floor, but getting rid of dull-looking spots, footprints, and everyday buildup can sometimes feel like a never-ending chore.
Then I tried a surprisingly simple trick: cleaning the floor with a microfiber mop and a small amount of dish soap in warm water.
It sounds almost too simple, but the difference can be noticeable—especially on floors covered with everyday grease, dust, and footprints.
The Simple Floor-Cleaning Trick
You only need:
- A bucket of warm water
- A few drops of mild dish soap
- A clean microfiber mop
- A dry microfiber cloth
The key is not to add lots of soap. Too much detergent can leave a sticky residue that actually attracts more dirt.
Step 1: Remove Loose Dirt
Sweep or vacuum the floor first. This prevents dust, hair, and grit from being pushed around by the wet mop.
